This is a great project for charm squares! Choose fabrics in your child's favorite colors, pick an oversized sweatshirt in a companion color and you'll be ready to go. Work around a small panel square, if you like, and unify the project by choosing a single fabric for the sleeves and hood. Keep the layout simple to avoid overwhelming that little body.
