Texas Shines is a pieced and appliquéd quilt pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Kari Nichols. Eleven fabrics graded from lightest to darkest are strip pieced into the quilt top, with an optional fused appliqué of the state of Texas. The darkest fabric does triple duty as the narrow strips, the border and the binding.

• ½ yd. of 10 fabrics ranging between lightest and darkest
• 3⅛ yd. of the darkest fabric — narrow strips, border and binding
• A fat quarter for the Great State of Texas (optional), plus ½ yd. fusible web
• 5 yd. backing; twin size cotton batting
