Middle Ground is a panel-friendly pieced quilt pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Kari Nichols. A theme fabric or panel centre is bordered and then surrounded by a pieced border of light and dark blocks, with a fat eighth accent in the side blocks. It only takes ⅔ yd of the feature fabric, so it's a good way to frame a panel or a print you don't want to cut into.

Uses a ⅔ yd panel, or ⅔ yd of theme fabric. If the theme fabric is directional, allow 1⅙ yds cut along the length of fabric.

• Side block accent — 1 fat eighth
• Inner border — ⅓ yd
• Outer border — 1 yd, or 2 yds if directional and cut along the length of fabric

• Backing — 3⅛ yds
• Batting — twin size
