Cubed - Quilt Pattern #386 by Mountainpeek Creations™ MPC

Cubed is a 2½" strip friendly quilt pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Kari Nichols. Two contrasting strips are joined and subcut into block centers, then each center is framed with a third strip — so the whole quilt is built from precut 2½" strips. If you have a jelly roll or a strip bundle, this pattern is designed for it.

Finished sizes

• Lap — 49½" x 61½" (24 strips)
• Throw — 61½" x 73½" (40 strips)
• Double — 73½" x 97½" (71 strips)
• Queen — 85½" x 109½" (96 strips)
• King — 109½" x 112½" (144 strips)

Techniques used

• Strip piecing with 2½" x 42" strips
• Framed block centers, straight set
• Inner and outer borders
• Based on a ¼" seam allowance

Good to know

Strips must measure a usable 42" for block construction. Yardage alternatives are given if you'd rather cut your own strips than use precuts — for example, 1⅔ yd for the lap size or 3 yds for the throw.
