Columbine Garden - Quilt Pattern #323 by Mountainpeek Creations™ MPC

Columbine Garden is a strip-pieced quilt pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Kari Nichols. Ten fabrics chosen from lightest to darkest are joined into color bands and subcut, so the background reads as a graded wash of color. Columbine flowers are then fused and appliquéd over the top, with outer petals, white inner petals and a yellow center.

Fabric requirements

• ⅜ yd of the lightest fabric
• ½ yd each of 8 fabrics in the color range between lightest and darkest
• 2¼ yds of the darkest fabric for narrow strips and border
• ¼ yd for columbine outer petals
• ⅛ yd for white inner petals
• 4" x 4" scrap for the yellow center
• ⅝ yd binding, 4 yds backing
• 1 yd fusible web
• Twin size cotton batting

• Strip piecing into color bands, then subcutting
