Byways is a pieced quilt pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Kari Nichols. Three 11½" x 32½" theme fabric panels run through the quilt alongside framed small blocks and large accent rectangles, with sashing and an inner and outer border tying the routes together. It is a good pattern for a large-scale print you want to leave uncut.

Fabric requirements

• Theme fabric — 1⅙ yds of one print, or (3) ⅜ yd cuts if directional along the length of fabric, or (3) 1 yd cuts if directional across the width
• Large accents — 1 yd (directional length of fabric) or ⅔ yd (directional width of fabric)
• Small blocks — (3 to 5) ⅓ yd cuts
• Frames, sashing and inner border — 1⅝ yds
• Outer border — 1½ yds
• Binding — ⅔ yd, backing — 4¾ yds
• Double size batting
