Abby Star - Quilt Pattern #400 by Mountainpeek Creations™ MPC

Abby Star is a fat quarter friendly pieced quilt pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Kari Nichols. Each fat quarter yields four 8½" squares, and a stitch-and-flip corner turns four of those squares into a star block — no templates and no set-in seams. Blocks are then joined with sashing and finished with an inner and outer border, in sizes from lap to king.

Finished sizes

• Lap — 47½" x 65½" (6 fat quarters)
• Twin — 65½" x 83½" (12 fat quarters)
• Queen — 83½" x 101½" (20 fat quarters)
• King — 101½" x 119½" (30 fat quarters)

Techniques used

• Rotary cutting from fat quarters and width-of-fabric strips
• Stitch-and-flip corner units, trimmed to a ¼" seam allowance
• Sashing, inner border and outer border construction
• Seam allowances are ¼" unless otherwise indicated

Good to know

The pattern includes separate piecing instructions for directional fabrics, which must be laid out in order before the block corners are added.
