Journey - Quilt Pattern #430 by Mountainpeek Creations™ MPC

Journey is a fat quarter friendly pieced quilt pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Kari Nichols. Each block pairs a large focus-fabric rectangle with a contrasting accent corner and accent rectangle, making an arrow-like shape. The blocks can be arranged several different ways — three layout options are shown in the pattern — so the same fabrics can produce very different looks.

Finished sizes

• Lap — 47½" x 59½" (6 fat quarters)
• Throw — 59½" x 71½" (10 fat quarters)
• Twin — 71½" x 83½" (15 fat quarters)
• Queen — 83½" x 95½" (21 fat quarters)
• King — 95½" x 107½" (28 fat quarters)

Finished sizes do not include the optional inner border. Finished blocks measure 12½" x 12½".

Techniques used

• Stitch-and-flip corner triangles (draw, stitch, trim, press)
• Simple straight-set block layout
• Optional inner border plus outer border
• Based on a ¼" seam allowance

Good to know

• Fat eighths can be used instead — you'll need twice as many as the fat quarter count listed.
• Ombré fabrics work well; cut rectangles so the light or dark end lands in the same spot on every block.
