Wide strips of fabric are added around a central rectangle, in a similar fashion to a log cabin or courthouse steps quilt block. The Theme fabric portion; - the center and two of the outer strips - works well with directional fabric. The rest of the fabrics can be brighter and/or smaller scale prints, adding cheery pops of color to the overall look of the throw.
