Baby Tiers is a pieced crib quilt pattern from Mountainpeek Creations™, designed by Kari Nichols. The quilt is built entirely from nine full-width horizontal tiers — a 24½" center theme fabric with dividing rows, sashing and top and bottom bands stacked around it — so there are no blocks to piece and no seams to match. It is an ideal way to feature a large-scale novelty print.

• Top and bottom — ½ yd
• Dividing rows — ⅓ yd
• Sashing — ⅓ yd
• Binding — ½ yd, backing — 2⅔ yds
• Crib size batting

Techniques used

• Rotary cutting from width-of-fabric strips
• Straight-seam strip assembly, stitching alternate ends so the fabric does not pull
• All measurements based on a ¼" seam allowance unless otherwise noted
