Among the Leaves So Green Quilt Pattern

This is a pattern for a quilted wall hanging that measures 29” by 21”.

This wall hanging provided me with a couple of surprises! First of all, the fabric I chose for the ornament gave it a look I was not expecting.

Have you ever seen a glass object that had things painted on it – and when you look down into the inside of the object, you can see the outline of the painted objects on the opposite side? Well, that’s what this fabric ended up looking like. And I didn’t even realize that it was going to look that way, until the quilt was finished! Also, when I was stitching the raw edges of the green “leaves,” I decided to use up all of the bits and pieces of spools of green thread that I had in my thread box. I learned a lesson that day!

The ones that didn’t quite match the fabric were the ones that looked the best, while the ones that matched just blended in and didn’t even show up! Don’t be afraid to try something different! Some experiments can have very happy results!
